As you explore your Ethos results, you will see that your profile and suggested practices are rooted in four key aspects of what it is to be human: identity, relationships, reality and purpose.

Ethos recognises that we all live lives of contradiction, especially when we reflect on the values and behaviours that shape our sense of identity, our relationships to others, our reality in the world, and our purpose in it.

  • Identity explores who we are and what shapes us. It asks big questions: what do I actually believe about myself? Where does my sense of worth come from? Who am I beneath the roles I play? Here we look at significance, dignity and equality. Because you matter.
  • Relationships starts from a simple truth: we need each other. Our relationships are where we experience the best and the hardest of life: joy, belonging, betrayal, repair. This is where we explore how we navigate connection, justice and peace, because we matter to each other.
  • Reality is an invitation to pay attention to the world you actually live in. Our bodies, the places we inhabit, and the time we are living in shape who we are. To be human is to be rooted in a particular time and place, formed by the people, cultures and experiences that surround us. Our present reality matters.
  • Purpose asks: what are you here for? What will you do with the freedom, influence and gifts you have? We explore the beliefs and habits that shape our sense of meaning, freedom and power because the difference we make matters.

As you explore Ethos and the wider work of Being Human, you will be invited to develop practices drawn from ancient biblical wisdom: small, habitual ways of living that begin to close the gap between what you believe and how you actually live. You may find that being human is far more complex, beautiful and worth exploring than you ever imagined.

Our hope is that Ethos gives you permission to be honest about the tensions you carry, the questions you haven’t answered and the kind of person you want to become. We believe that Jesus offers the fullest picture of what it means to be human, and that exploring your own story in that light can change everything.

Come on the Ethos journey with us and see what we mean.
